The summer is coming to a close and that means it’s time to get prepped and ready for all of the fall trends that have been rolling out on the runway. Here at Nanshy, we are gearing up for the fall season by curating the perfect runway-ready looks for you to sport in fall 2014 so keep an eye out for more fabulous looks. Silver and gray shades are making a huge splash in the makeup world this fall, so here are some of our best tips for wearing this muted hue:

Play with Metallics this Fall 2014 Makeup Trends

Metallics aren’t always the best option as they can be a bit flashy and super messy if you don’t apply them properly, but if you put in a little practice you will be a pro at applying shimmery shades in no time. Be sure to use a long-lasting makeup primer prior to applying metallic makeup and press a tissue below your eye while applying it to catch any fall out. If you have fine lines, you may want to skip the metallic silvers as these will only draw further attention to those areas. Instead, try out a new matte gray shade.

Match Your Nail Polish and Eye Shadow.

fall 2014 makeup trendsSilver and gray polishes are making a major comeback this season so grab your favorite gray or silver shadow and pick up a polish to match. Remember, to have fun with metallic and holographic polishes to add a little flare to the more neutral attire you see during fall months. You can even grab a mineral eyeshadow and mix a pinch of it in clear polish to create the perfect match for your shadow.

Step Outside of the Box.

For those of you who make very little change between seasons, it’s time to challenge yourself to try something you wouldn’t normally do. For instance, skip the dark black liner along your waterline and instead opt for a light shimmery silver pencil to really brighten up your peepers. You can still use a darker shade around your lashes to thicken and darken that area, but this year it’s time for a change.
